When we were driving to St. Louis we talked about how that day was our six month anniversary, and like the nineth year we've known each other, what a perfect way to celebrate huh? Oh wait...it gets better!
We finally arrived to the Arch and after taking several pictures outside (and knocking on the side of the Arch to see if it was hollow...we couldn't help ourselves), we bought our tickets to the top. I have to take a minute hear to admit that I was such a wimp on the ride up...with every little jolt I gripped the boy's knee-what can I say, me and heights...not so much. Okay, moving on...once we got out of our tiny pod at the top of the Arch in the observation deck, I commenced being super excited and taking photos. We asked the nice couple that rode up with us to take a photo of us...then I headed to the window to take photos. Next thing I knew, someone tapped on my shoulder, and when I turned around there was my love...on one knee smiling from ear-to-ear...let the crying begin. He said all the perfect things (small confession: I may have missed some of what he said because I was crying-but I'm sure they were perfect!), and then he asked me to be his wife and I, of course, said yes! Then there was hugging, and applause, and pictures. It was perfect, simply perfect! And now we are to be wed! Time for you to see photos.
**Bonus** A couple people video taped it and will hopefully email it soon, so I will post that when I get it.

I've been waiting for this post! Congratulations again! I'm so happy for you two!
ReplyDeleteSo cute :)
ReplyDeleteAlthough that "admiring the ring" pic looks strangely like a "making out" pic....

Beautiful! Love the pictures :)
ReplyDeleteLove it! Being able to spend your life with your true love is the greatest blessing ever! Super funny story: My boyfriend gave me a type of a promise ring for my birthday 3 years ago in front of the St. Louis arch, and all the security guards thought he was proposing and clapped and cheered for us. We just went along with it. haha
ReplyDeleteThat's a great story! I love that you guys went along with it, I would have done the same.
