Can be defined as, "good fortune, pleasure, contentment"-but lately what I have realized is that my happiness is in my hands. I feel that all the words that define happiness are all subject to external circumstances or people...someone giving you good fortune, etc. But what I'm looking for in happiness is something that can't be taken away due to misfortune or a bad day-I want a happiness that's deep in my soul so that even on the toughest of days I am happy. As a Christian I know that only God can provide this happiness, which to me is joy. I also know that I need to live an orderly and obedient life in order to be able to fully open myself to this joy.
A few weeks ago my friend introduced me to a book called The Happiness Project. This is a book by an ordinary woman, Gretchen Rubin, who wanted to be happier at her core, and in order to achieve this she set out to put her life in order. She speaks about how her happiness project will look different from others, but how reading someone else's story can help to inspire you to take on your own project. Well, she was correct and now I have decided to pursue my own happiness project. I'm calling it Get Happy! Each month for the next year I will focus on "getting happy" by doing things from increasing my energy to getting a clue about what's going on in the world. I will be sharing my progress every couple of weeks here on my blog. I'm very excited about this journey and I'm excited to share it with you all!
xoxo,
Savvy
